What Can Green Clean Institute Do for You?

The answer to this question for the Crawford County R-1 Schools custodial staff in Bourbon, Missouri is that for the first time in Rob Lewis’ memory, the entire staff is in the local paper to mark their recent accomplishments.  Rob, district supervisor, tells me, “After earning our certification and making changes in our custodial services program, we are experiencing the best fall start to the school year we have ever had”.  Recognition of custodial staff doesn’t happen within the district often, but now the community paying the taxes for this district is aware of this staffs commitment to the health of those using the facilities they fund.

Over the last 7 year the staff has been making changes, employing many attributes of Green Cleaning.  The GCIC Technician course instructed in July, helped the entire staff put all the pieces together, enabling them to make some very impactful moves.  So much so, the local paper had this to say this week;

 Crawford County Schools   The entire Crawford County R-1 School District Custodial Staff completed a full-day or training in Rolla (Missouri) on July 14.  The training included covering the basics of school cleaning, introduction of new techniques and the latest on “Green Cleaning”.  Cleaning for health was the main focus of the training.  The workshop included hands-on training opportunities which provided exposure to the latest in floor maintenance techniques, carpet programs, and modernized restroom sanitation methods.  At the end of the training session, all participants were required to complete two tests.  We are proud to say all of the Bourbon Schools Custodial Team received a passing score on both tests and have been certified as Green Clean Technicians!

Rob tells me they will be working to earn their Basic Firm Certification, which he would like to see completed by this school year’s end.  We support their efforts and are honored to welcome them into the Green Clean Institute network of certified individuals.

When will GCI be able to do this for you?  GCI President, Dave Thompson
